How could cultural content and collections make a difference to young audiences’ digital learning, play and experiences? Using examples from their work with children, young people and digital technologies, in contexts beyond the cultural sector, our speakers will explore what’s possible and why it matters.

11.50 – 13.00 – Session two: Challenge & Collaborate
The conference will break out into a series of working groups of no more than 15 people, each facilitated by a colleague with expertise and experience in that area. Each group will discuss an opportunity to collaborate, take action or tackle a challenge, with a view to making something concrete happen in the next 3 months. These are not workshops but discursive, informal sessions for shared learning and plotting. Groups will be given a light framework to guide discussion, to record next steps and to note support they may need to take the next step.

13.45 – 15.05 – Session three: Inspiration
This session explores a range of digital work that is all doing something creative and genuinely managing to spark and support engagement with children, young people and/or teachers. Our speakers’ projects cover a range of tools and tactics but they all have audience needs and a sound understanding of what makes good content at heart.

Let’s make things happen. We’ll round off the day with a very action-oriented session, packed with practical advice, bringing together arts organisations with specialists whose role it is to support development and activity; along with the view into our sector from the commercial software side of the fence.
