Caroline Icke

Caroline is a Marketing and Communications Officer at National Trust Calke Abbey, a 600-acre estate complete with ‘un-stately’ country house, working gardens and plenty of wildlife, nestled in the Derbyshire countryside. Calke Abbey is home to HumanKind, a project developed in collaboration with the Research Centre for Museums and Galleries at the University of Leicester, which aims to shed new light on Calke’s story of isolation and loneliness, and share new perspectives of kindness and compassion within Calke’s complex history. HumanKind also asks whether cultural organisations can play a part in tackling modern-day loneliness, and inspires small acts of kindness in everyday life. Caroline works to translate these stories online, seeking digital spaces where people can reflect, connect and be kind.
